College deans/academic officers

  • Develop a vision of College Tech Prep for the college in conjunction with secondary system directors and superintendents.
  • Identify college planning team members.
  • Assist in leading the College Tech Prep project.
  • Coordinate planning for College Tech Prep with key groups.
  • Assist in College Tech Prep project management.

School superintendents

  • Develop a vision of College Tech Prep for the school district in conjunction with community college presidents and vocational directors.
  • Communicate and sell the College Tech Prep vision.
  • Develop a College Tech Prep philosophy and district policies

School principals

  • Identify school planning team members
  • Provide building level support
  • Assist in developing a College Tech Prep philosophy and school policies

Career technical directors

  • Assist in College Tech Prep vision and philosophy development
  • Facilitate communication about College Tech Prep across systems and institutions
  • Gain local support and resources for College Tech Prep
  • Assist in curriculum integration efforts
  • Identify planning team members
  • Assist in College Tech Prep project management
  • Develop and coordinate marketing efforts

Academic teachers

  • Instruct College Tech Prep students to achieve TCP academic competencies
  • Maintain college prep performance and expectations
  • Use examples, problems and applied activities to achieve academic competencies
  • Works collaboratively with technical teachers and other academic colleagues (including college)
  • Participate in professional development opportunities
  • Identify academic applications for an integrated academic and technical curriculum
  • Design and develop an integrated curriculum jointly with career-tech faculty and others
  • Plan and participate in team teaching of the integrated curriculum

Technical teachers

  • Instruct College Tech Prep students to achieve TCP competencies
  • Enforce college prep performance expectations
  • Use examples, problems and applied activities to achieve academic competencies
  • Work collaboratively with technical teacher and with other colleagues from college and business
  • Facilitate student involvement in enrichment activities—especially activities involving employers and/or college partners
  • Identify technical applications for an integrated academic and technical curriculum
  • Design and develop an integrated curriculum jointly with academic faculty and others
  • Plan and participate in team teaching of the integrated curriculum
  • Assist in designing staff development
  • Assist in designing articulation agreements
  • Educate others about College Tech Prep

Counselors

  • Inform students, parents and other about College Tech Prep
  • Counsel students about participating in College Tech Prep
  • Assist in designing the College Tech Prep components
  • Assist students with career planning
  • Help students arrange work experience
  • Assist students in planning College Tech Prep programs of study
  • Promote College Tech Prep and its options to students and parents
