Standards Plus

Standards Plus is an important new improvement strategy for career-technical education — in fact for all secondary education in Ohio. The project identifies resources to help teachers connect academic and career-technical standards to a real-world context. The project complements the education reform efforts grounded in the Ohio Department of Education strategic plan to:

• raise expectations
• build capacity
• improve results.

Through web-based resources, Standards Plus will show the connections of academic content to careers and lifelong learning, adding greater value to the standards for student learning.

The Standards Plus project, supported in whole by the federal Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Applied Technology Act, is a partnership between the Ohio Resource Center for Math, Science and Reading, the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Board of Regents.
